SGR Update Dec 27, 2011

The "Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act of 2011" was signed by
President Obama
on December 23.
This act includes a two-month delay of the 27.4% SGR Medicare physician payment cut scheduled for January 1, 2012
. The rationale for the short term extension is to avoid disruptions on 1/1/12 and provide time for further negotiations on a larger legislative package.
